Here at Chalet nelle Dolomiti, spring is slowly awakening after the long, harsh winter. With its arrival, everything seems to come back to life: nature regains its harmony, the rich local wildlife stirs gently from hibernation, and the landscape begins to change. As the snow melts, it reveals the dry blanket of vegetation beneath, soon to be covered in fresh greenery.

Guests staying at the chalet in spring can witness this magical transformation of the Dolomites—an unforgettable season when nature blossoms in all its forms.

Scenic Walks Nearby

With the arrival of spring, the area around Canal San Bovo becomes perfect for panoramic, culinary, and family-friendly walks. It feels as if your feet naturally guide you outside, eager to step on the fresh grass and fill your lungs with crisp mountain air. Luckily, the region is full of charming places to explore, suitable for every age and taste.

Lake Calàita

Lake Calàita is a small natural alpine lake, located at 1,605 meters above sea level. It’s an easy and peaceful walk, perfect for families with young children. From the lake, a longer and more challenging trail leads directly to San Martino di Castrozza.

The Chapel of San Silvestro

The Chapel of San Silvestro overlooks the entrance to the Primiero Valley, rewarding hikers with a stunning view after the climb. Recent studies suggest it was built in the 13th century. Perched high on the mountainside, it seems almost impossible to reach on foot—yet it can be done.

Caoria Wildlife Area – Deer

The Caoria Wildlife Area is especially loved by children, where they can admire deer and roe deer, animals native to the Dolomites. Educational visits must be booked in advance.

Rifugio Fossernica

At more than 1,700 meters above sea level, Rifugio Fossernica offers breathtaking views of the Cima d’Asta and the central Lagorai range. Once there, you can sit at the outdoor tables and enjoy authentic Trentino cuisine—especially the famous Botìro di Primiero, a traditional butter made at the nearby alpine dairy.

These are just a few of the many walks and excursions you can enjoy in the area. Stay tuned to our blog—we’ll soon be sharing more inspiring destinations.
